10 watts idle, really? That seems extremely high. Do you have C-states disabled?


He quoted entire machine @ 10w not just the cpu.


Which is worse than Coffee Lake era systems. I suspect misconfiguration, a truly awful power brick, or inaccurate measurements.


FYI I had an NUC8 (i5) which was about 10W when idle.


Oh by the way I saw people say their Mac mini (M1) idles at 8W. I couldn't verify it but I think the number is reasonable and they are all within close range of each other.
