I'm sure it's out of date in some areas by now, but I have Navarro's textbook[1] and it's a great survey. (The only criticism that comes to mind is that it weirdly shortchanges Elias-Fano encoding[2], which is hugely important in practice but relegated to just an offhand sentence or two in the book.)
